DMTI CHILDREN’S PRIVACY NOTICE
Last Updated: 06-24-2024
This Children’s Privacy Notice describes how DMTI, Inc. (“DMTI,” “we,” or “us”) collects, uses, discloses, and otherwise processes information about children who access or use our educational mobile applications (“Apps”). This Children’s Privacy Notice does not apply to any information we process in connection with operating our websites (such information is governed by our Website Privacy Notice) or providing our educational services to schools (such information is governed by our Education Privacy Notice).
This Children’s Privacy Notice is effective as of the “Last Updated” date above. We may change this Children’s Privacy Notice from time to time. If we make changes, we will notify you by revising the “Last Updated” date. Where required by law, we will notify you through the Services or by other means and seek your consent to or allow you to opt of the changes. We encourage you to review this Children’s Privacy Notice regularly to stay informed about our information practices and the choices available to you.
Initial Download
When children first download one of our Apps we will only collect an identifier associated with their device. We will use that identifier to authenticate users and track progress in the Apps, serve, measure, and cap contextual advertisements, protect the security and integrity of the Apps and users, and to comply with legal obligations. We may disclose the identifier to vendors or service providers that (1) we engage to support those activities and (2) agree to provide equivalent protection to these identifiers.
Direct Notice
Children who demonstrate sustained interest in an App will have the option of creating an account. We will collect email addresses from children who do so and we will use the email addresses to respond to children’s requests (such as to send password reminders). We will also collect those children’s parent’s email addresses to notify the parents that (1) we have collected their child’s email address so we can respond to their child’s requests as described above, (2) that we won’t use or disclose their child’s email address other than to support the internal operations of our Apps or as may be required by law, (3) that parents can prevent us from contacting their child, and/or require the deletion of their child’s email address, by contacting us as set forth below, and (4) if the parents don’t opt out we will use their child’s email address as stated in this Direct Notice.
